You’re really getting your money’s worth this weekend. Hang on a minute, it’s free. OK, we have uploaded three new reviews to the Dog Friendly Suffolk site, two walks and one pub. The most important first, we have reviewed the Ship at Levington, and a great pub it is too. We can exclusively reveal that as of this month they are allowing dogs in the front bar, still no kids though.
Next up, we have a review for Nacton Picnic Site, and Orwell Country Park. These are both great places to take your dogs. Orwell can get a bit muddy at certain times of the year, as you can see from the picture of Kopek below.
A very muddy, but happy Kopek
Nacton is quite a mild walk, with onlyu a little uphill bits. There’s also the Ship pub at the end of it, although I still haven’t convinced the other half to walk back and fetch the car whilst I finish off my pint.

OK, we have increased the storage available for members on the Dog Friendly Suffolk Photo Gallery to 100Mb, now you’ve no excuses not to post your photos.
We have also integrated the membership between the Forum and the Photo Gallery, so you only need to register/login once and you can move between the two.

Wow, the updates are coming thick and fast, although I’m sure they’ll slow down fairly soon. I’ve now added an RSS feed to the Dog Friendly Suffolk website so you can subscribe and receive notifications when there’s a new review posted.
Don’t forget, you can sign up to the message board and let us know what you think of the reviews, or you can suggest some of your own. Or, you can just chat about dogs and walks in general.

Another two reviews are up on the Dog Friendly Suffolk website. The first is for the Greyhound Pub in Ipswich, suffolk, and the second is for Christchurch Park also in Ipswich, Suffolk.
I have also uploaded the pictures for our next Dog Friendly walk review which will be for Nacton. You can find these on the Photo Album section of the site, along with all the photos from all our walks.

We have completed our first two reviews on http://www.dogfriendlysuffolk.com. The first is for The Garland Pub in Ipswich, and the second is for Rushmere Common walk which is adjacent to The Garland.
Please read the reviews, if you have any comments on them, then feel free to register on the Message Board and comment away. You can also use the Message Board (accessable from the menu on http://www.dogfriendlysuffolk.com) to post your own reviews, or make suggestions about which pub/walk you’d like reviewing.

New features on the Dog Friendly Suffolk website are a Message Board, and a Photo Album.
The message board allows membersto add comments to our reviews, or suggest new venues (pubs or walks), or even submit their own review. There is sections for Dog talk, general chat, and even one for Jokes.
The Photo Album section allows members to view photos of not only the Pubs & walks we’ve visited, but also to see photos of Kopek & Malli. We are also offering 20Mb of space for members to upload their own photos. We will be reviewing this after a few months, and maybe uprating the space.

Well, it’s been a while since I was on here. So long in fact I’d forgotton my password. A lot has happened over the last year, but probably not much of interest to those who read these posts.
I’ve been very remiss over updating any of my sites, although I did do a major revamp of the Genealogy site (http://www.the-e-site.com), but despite promises I haven’t kept that up recently.
The book has been going steadily over the last year, by that I mean slowly. I manage to sell around two or three a month on average.
I’ve started yet another site, and this one is the one I’ll keep up to date (promise). It’s called Dog Friendly Suffolk, and surprisingly it’s about pubs and walks that are dog friendly in Suffolk. My wife has joined me in this one, so there’s a good chance I won’t get too lazy and neglect it. As we are travelling around Suffolk (our home county), we are taking notes, and interviewing the landlords of any good dog friendly pubs we come across. We are also taking note of any good walks, especially if they are close to any aforementioned pubs.
If you live in Suffolk, or are planning to visit, then please check out the site. If you come across any pubs or walks that are worth a mention, then please recommend them on the site. You can find it at http://www.dogfriendlysuffolk.com.

I have had yet another busy week, there really is no rest for an author, or at least not for one who wants to be recognised. The article in the Ispwich Evening Star brought quite a lot of interest. Unfortunately, it hasn’t resulted in many sales. I’m wondering if that’s because the only way to buy the book is through PayPal from the website. Hopefully the article in the weekly magazine in the East Anglian Daily Times will be more successful. I trying to coordinate the release of that, with the availability of my book in the shops. It’s at week 5 in the 6 to 8 week process.
I’ll be going to my local Waterstones this week, to see if they will give me any space to coincide with the review. They seem to be friendly towards local authors, so they might even give me a display, here’s hoping.
I’ve started to build up a small social network, but it really does eat into my time. I’m now blogging, twittering, Flickring, book reviewing, and being proactive on some forums. If I have several threads running on the forums, and hour or so seems to disappear before I know it.
I’ve now completed book number 7 on the book review section of my website, a great story from Danica-Lea Larcombe called Pushing the Boundaries. You can read the review http://www.kopek-publishing.com/blog_review/?p=389>here, and purchase her book here. I have started the next one, and have two more lined up. I’m going to have to take a break after that, else I’ll not have any time for promoting my own book.
The added interest that I alluded to earlier, has come from 2 national magazines wanting to do a story on me and Kopek. Whilst they won’t be book reviews, it will be good publicity. The first of these should be appearing in late May 2009.

Thanks to the muppet who posted hundreds of spam posts on the genealogy forum, I’ve had to add confirmation of membership to this. Also, due to the explicit nature of the posts, I’ll have to make it a priority for this weekend, so I can’t complete any other work. If anyone knows how to remove bulk posts from a user in the Simple Machines Forum software, then please let me know, it could save me hours of work.
If you find yourself banned from this forum in error, use the contact form to let me know, and I can reinstate you.

Lots and lots of stuff happening over the last couple of weeks. Firstly the review website is coming along nicely, there are now 6 reviews posted on there. I still have two more to do, so I should be in double figures sometime this month. I never thought it would be quite so popular, but it’s fun reading lots of different types of books.
On the book front, I’ve had lots of free press. I managed to get a local magazine to do a competition for my book, giving away a copy of the book, and a t-shirt. Yesterday I had a whole page in he Evening Star, the local paper for Ipswich. The Star has a circulation of nearly 52,000, so I’m hoping for some good sales from that. I’ve also been approached by the book reviewer for the regional newspaper, the East Anglian. He would like to do a 2 page spread on the book. I’m trying to arrange for this to come out around the same time as the book hits the shops, or at least be available for the shops. I now need to talk to my local bookshops to see if they will be prepared to give me a bit of window space for the same time period.
